Editorial approach

Editorial policy

Cooking is at the center of everything we publish: information must be clear, useful and honest. This page explains how we work on our content.

1. How recipes are put together

Every recipe is written with recognizable ingredients, quantities and instructions designed to be cooked while following the site on a phone or printing the recipe. When we adapt a recipe from another country or culture, we aim to respect its authentic version rather than simplify it.

2. Images

The images accompanying each recipe, both the main image and the step images, are illustrative: they are created digitally to represent each step and the expected result of the dish, and each one is checked against the recipe text before publishing. They are not photographs taken while actually cooking. Some recipes also include our own preparation video.

3. Nutrition information and technical data

The calorie and macronutrient figures shown with each recipe are estimates calculated from the listed ingredients and servings, using public nutrition databases as a reference. They aren't a lab analysis of the prepared dish and can vary depending on the exact brands and amounts you use.

4. Sources and data we can't confirm

We don't make up data that isn't available. When an editorial detail (for example, the historical origin of a dish) isn't confirmed by a reasonable source, we avoid presenting it as fact and prefer to phrase it as likely or traditional.

5. Editorial independence

Recipes and their content aren't sponsored by brands or third parties, and we don't accept payment in exchange for positive reviews. The site's only advertising is Google AdSense, managed independently from the editorial content.

6. Corrections

If you notice an error in a recipe or in any content on the site, write to hola@manualdecocina.com; we review and correct published content when appropriate.

7. Scope

Manual de Cocina isn't a medical, nutritional, restaurant or professional advisory service. Content is for informational and recreational purposes; for health decisions, consult a qualified professional.
