Oven roast beef

This baked beef roast recipe is perfect for a special dinner or to share with friends and family. The beef broth and red wine add a depth of flavor to the meat, while the vegetables add a touch of sweetness. It's a delicious and satisfying option!

Ingredients to prepare Baked Beef Roast:

  • 1 kg beef roast
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, cut into quarters
  • 2 large carrots, peeled and cut into large pieces
  • 2 sticks celery, cut into large pieces
  • 4 whole cloves of garlic, peeled
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup of red wine
  • 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • Salt and ground black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the beef roast with salt and pepper and sear it in the pan until browned on both sides.
  3. Transfer the roast to a large baking dish and add the onion, carrots, celery and garlic cloves around the roast.
  4. Pour the beef broth and red wine over the meat and vegetables. Add the fresh rosemary sprigs to the baking dish.
  5. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and place in the oven. Bake for 2-3 hours or until meat is tender.
  6. Remove the baking dish from the oven and remove the aluminum foil. Let the meat rest for about 10 minutes before slicing it.
  7. Serve hot with the vegetables and cooking juices.
