  • 400 grams of Ground meat (can be a mix of beef and pork)

  • 1 unit of Large onion, finely chopped

  • 2 units of Carrots, finely chopped

  • 2 stems of Carrots, finely chopped

  • 4 cloves Garlic, chopped

  • 800 grams of Canned crushed tomatoes

  • 1/2 Taza de Red wine

  • 1/2 Taza de Meat broth

  • 2 Tablespoons of Tomato paste

  • 2 teaspoons of sugar

  • 1 teaspoon of Dried oregano

  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil

  • 1 pinch of Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 splash of oliva oil

  • 400 grams of Pasta (spaghetti, tagliatelle or another of your preference)

  • Grated Parmesan cheese, to serve


  • Heat some olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion, carrots, and celery and cook until tender, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Add the garlic and cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until golden brown and cooked through, breaking up any lumps with a wooden spoon.
  • Pour the red wine into the pan and let it evaporate for a few minutes.
  • Add the crushed tomatoes, meat broth, tomato paste, sugar, oregano and basil.
  • Mix all ingredients well.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer the sauce for at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally. The longer you cook it, the tastier it will become.
  • Meanwhile, cook pasta in a large pot of salted water following package directions until al dente.
  • Drain the pasta and set it aside.
  • Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
