Ingredients for Bulgogi:
- 500 grams of beef (preferably sirloin)
- 1 large onion
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 chives
- 1 Asian pear or apple, grated
- 5 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- Freshly ground black pepper
Instructions to prepare Bulgogi:
- Cut the meat into thin strips and set aside.
- In a separate container, mix the chopped onion, garlic, grated pear or apple, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, honey, grated ginger and a little black pepper.
- Add the meat to the mixture and mix well so that it is completely covered. Marinate for at least an hour, preferably overnight in the refrigerator.
- Cut the chives into thin slices and set aside.
- In a large frying pan or wok, heat a little sesame oil and add the marinated meat. Cook over high heat for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Add the scallions and cook for a few more minutes.
- Serve hot, accompanied by white rice and sautéed vegetables if desired.
