Tiramisu

Tiramisu is a classic Italian dessert that combines the creaminess of mascarpone cheese with the softness of ladyfingers soaked in coffee and coffee liqueur. This version of the recipe includes a coating of cocoa powder for extra flavor and a hint of bitterness.

Ingredients for Tiramisu:

  • 6 egg yolks
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup coffee liqueur (such as Kahlua or Tía María)
  • 1 ½ cups mascarpone cheese
  • 2 cups whipped cream
  • 1 package ladyfingers
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Instructions to prepare Tiramisu:

  1. In a large bowl, beat the egg yolks and sugar with an electric mixer until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
  2. Add the coffee liqueur to the mixture and beat until well combined.
  3. Add the mascarpone cheese to the mixture and beat until smooth and well incorporated.
  4. In another bowl, beat the whipped cream until it forms soft peaks.
  5. Add the whipped cream to the mascarpone cheese mixture and mix gently with a spatula until well combined.
  6. Lightly dip the ladyfingers in strong coffee and place them in a layer on the bottom of a baking pan.
  7. Cover the sponge cakes with a layer of the mascarpone cheese mixture.
  8. Repeat the layers of ladyfingers and mascarpone cheese mixture, finishing with a layer of mascarpone cheese mixture.
  9. Sprinkle the cocoa powder over the top layer of the mascarpone cheese mixture.
  10. Cover the tiramisu with aluminum foil and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm.
  11. Serve cold and enjoy this classic and delicious Italian dessert.

After refrigerating for several hours, the Tiramisu is ready to enjoy. This dessert is perfect for any special occasion or just to treat yourself to a sweet and delicious treat.
